Jalandhar, November 11, 2022: CHARISMA -2022, the Mega Annual Fresher’s Party of DAVIET, Jalandhar, was organized with great pomp and show here in the campus today. The event symbolizes the Time to enter a different phase, to meet new faces, to make new mates and to learn new ways. Freshers’ Party is a formal welcome to the first year entrants by their seniors. It provided the students with a platform to exhibit their talent in a wide variety of cultural events. The foot-tapping music, the flashlights, along with the excitement and high spirits of the youngsters made the party joyful and exuberant. 

Jovial smiles and high spirits marked the welcome party for the students. The ramp walk was a great hit with the audience. In a very tough and competitive three rounds, the contestants tried to outperform each other to get the top positions. 

The expert judges of the event were Harpreet Singh Rimpy, a famous writer, actor and Director; Dr. Sandhya Dewan, Principal, Cambridge International School, Nakodar and Teenu Sharma, the renowned actress and Director.

Dr Sudhir Sharma, Principal DAVIET, extended a rapturous welcome to the Chief Guest, Dr Balkar Singh, Director (College Development), IKG Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, and other distinguished dignitaries to the Fresher’s Meet.

Addressing the euphoric entrants, he termed Fresher’s Party as the flagship mega event for the students of the first year, providing a platform for Formal welcome extended to them by their seniors. Addressing the new entrants, Dr. Sharma called upon them to follow the footsteps of their seniors to attain the goals of their lives and learn to strive through the hardships that may come across on the path. He also touched upon the institution’s achievements and shared that the institute students hold maximum merit positions in the university while an unmatched record is there when it comes to wining the coveted PTU Youth festivals. He expressed his gratitude to mentors from DAVCMC for their support and guidance at all the times and for providing the rich Arya Samaj Culture. He said that the institute will equip the students with requisite technical skills, ethics and moral values and thus will create responsible Indian citizens.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest of the function, Dr Balkar Singh, congratulated the young and vibrant DAVIETians for organizing this mega event. Addressing the students he said that the college life is a different chapter in students’ education and will be a big shift from the school life as they now have moved into hostels and will be more self dependent. He said that the DAV management has provided a beautiful infrastructure, excellent faculty members and facilities to the students and they must use this now to achieve their goals. He called upon the students to identify their strengths and weaknesses and polish their overall personality to secure a rewarding career. He highlighted the importance of hard work, dedication and perseverance and motivated the students to give their best in life. He expressed confidence that the students will have excellent and joyful 3-4 years of their stay, as applicable, at this lovely campus.

The function ended with the National Anthem.
