Chandigarh University Students Secured Over 10,000 Job Offers from 1300+ Leading National and Global Firms in 2025
CU launches Rs 250 Cr Scholarship Program Through CUCET 2026
Rohtak, January 17, 2026: Chandigarh University (CU), continues to be a top choice for leading national and international recruiters with more than 1300 recruiters offering over 10,000 jobs to CU’s 2025 batch students. The highest international package touched Rs 1.74 crore, while the highest domestic offer stood at Rs 54.75 lakh. Over 31 of these recruiters extended job offers amounting to Rs 20 lakh or above, while 52 companies provided opportunities with annual salary packages exceeding Rs 15 lakh. This was informed by Advisor to Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Prof (Dr.) R.S. Bawa during an interaction with media persons at Rohtak.
Sharing placement details of CU students from Haryana, Prof Bawa said, “As many as 2,034 CU students from Haryana received job offers from top Indian and global firms in the last two years. While 803 Chandigarh University students from Haryana secured jobs in 2024, the number increased to 1231 in 2025. In the last two years alone as many as 126 students from Rohtak secured job offers from leading national and international companies,”.
Prof Bawa said the NCC wing at Chandigarh University has fulfilled the aspirations of students wishing to serve the nation, as many as 43 cadets trained at NCC wing of CU have been commissioned as officers in all three wings of Indian Armed Forces.
Prof Bawa said Chandigarh University is providing scholarships worth Rs 250 Crore through its admission-cum-scholarship entrance exam, Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test 2026 (CUCET 2026), to support meritorious and financially deprived students by offering up to 100 per cent scholarships for admission to its Mohali and Lucknow campuses.
"CUCET 2025 is a gateway to world-class education and a lifeline for deserving students who lack the means to pursue their academic goal. Chandigarh University has earmarked Rs 250 crore in scholarships for 2026 - Rs 200 crore for students at the Mohali campus and Rs 50 crore for recently introduced AI-augmented Chandigarh University Lucknow campus. Students can easily apply for CUCET 2025 through the university’s portal (https://www.cuchd.in/scholarship/),” Prof Bawa added.
“Since, the establishment of Chandigarh University, Mohali campus in 2012 as many as 1.30 lakh students from 28 states and 8 union territories of India and many students from foreign countries have also availed the scholarships offered by CU. In the current academic year 2025-26, as many as 9678 students from Haryana availed scholarship benefits in 2025-26 out of which 4,810 students were given scholarship through CUCET and 4868 through other scholarship schemes,” he said.
Sharing details about Chandigarh University’s defence scholarship, he said, “Over the last 13 years, Chandigarh University has awarded Defence scholarships worth Rs 6 Crore to 5,723 students which is a reflection of its enduring commitment to the families of those who serve the nation. The wards and family members of Defence Personnel can avail benefits of Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS) and Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Scholarship. In 2025, as many as 67 students from Haryana availed benefits of Defence Scholarship.”
Elaborating on CU’s Research and Innovation oriented academia, Dr (Prof) Bawa said, “Chandigarh University has more than 20,000 research publications to its credit and more than 5519 patents have been filed, 5212 patents published and 238 patents were granted in varied domains by the students and faculty members of the varsity. In 2024-25 alone, CU students filed 743 patents, 770 patents filed by students were published and 49 such patents were granted.”
Showcasing the growing global research impact and influence of Chandigarh University, as many as 44 faculty members from varied academic domains were featured among the world’s top 2 per cent scientists as per the Stanford University. Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator (CU-TBI) has launched more than 250 student Start-Ups successfully.
Sharing details regarding industry-academia interface at CU, Dr (Prof) Bawa said, “CU provides environment conducive to innovation and discovery with as many as 30 Industry-sponsored Advanced Research Labs and 32 Centers of Excellence (COEs) established by leading multinational corporations such as Microsoft, Cisco, Hyundai, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini and IBM among others. Apart from this, CU also houses 60 research centers,”.
