Chandigarh News- Yuvsatta organises Peace Campaign at 17 Plaza

Over 100 students from Gurukul Global School Manimajra along with Yuvsatta volunteers stood at Sector 17 Plaza at Chandigarh on Monday evening, carrying candles and wearing dresses of different nationalities and religions, holding banners and placards of world peace, non-violence and promotion of human rights and dignity of girls.

Chandigarh, September 23, 2013: Today as part of forthcoming 8th International Youth Peace Fest (IYPF 2013), over 100 students from Gurukul Global School Manimajra along with Yuvsatta volunteers stood at Sector 17 Plaza here this evening, carrying candles and wearing dresses of different nationalities and religions, holding banners and placards of world peace, nonviolence and promotion of human rights and dignity of girls.
Explaining the initiative Aruna Bhardwaj,  Principal, Gurukul Global School Manimajra, said, “The message their students want to give is the universal Indian ethos of ‘Vasudhev Kutukbkam’ and ‘Ek Nur Se Sab Jag Upja’, that whole world is one family, and all killings, hate-crimes and war mongeries should stop immediately. So that the the children can breathe in fresh air of love, peace and compassion.
As peace begins with the people, during this whole event for unity of mankind a banner of 50 feet size was spread in the Plaza and students inspired hundreds of people present there to write about one personal resolve for personal peace which they will pledge today and add to peace at home, in families and peaceful city Chandigarh.
Pramod Sharma, Coordinator , Yuvsatta added that Gurukul Global School is an active partner in the upcoming 8th International Youth Peace Fest for which first participant from Venezuela, a girl named Nairus reached today and they’re expecting over 300 others to join them by September 27, 2013, the World Tourism Day.
