The World Peace Parade being organised by Jurists & Associates International (JAI), Yuvsatta, NSS State Cell Chandigarh, Bar Association of Punjab & Haryana High Court, Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana and Independent Schools' Association Chandigarh in Chandigarh on Sunday.

Chandigarh, September 29, 2013: The World Peace Parade organised by Jurists & Associates International (JAI), Yuvsatta, NSS State Cell Chandigarh, Bar Association of Punjab & Haryana High Court, Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana and Independent Schools' Association Chandigarh inspired over 10,000 people, especially young people to join in the initiative with full enthusiasm and march from Open Hand to Parade Ground here today.
The star attraction of the prorgamme remained over 250 participants from around 25 countries led by American Gandhi Bernie Meyer who had gathered in Chandigarh as part of ongoing 8th International Youth Peace Fest (IYPF-2013) at PG Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh.
Since early morning young NSS volunteers, advocates, officials of Chandigarh Administration, members of Residents Welfare Associations dressed in white started gathering with banners and placards proclaiming the dream of a ‘World Without Wars’, “A World where girls can realise their full potential’, emphasizing that ‘Peace is a Family Value’ and ‘Say No To War’.
And by the time Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court accompanied by Mr. Justice Surya Kant released colourful balloons and flagged-off the rally. A one km. long International gathering of people from almost all continents of the world raising slogans of ‘We Want Peace’, ‘We Desire Friendship’, ‘We Are One’ created vibrations which surely will motivate many to do for a peaceful world.
Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that many people today speak of peace in the world, but first they have to cultivate peace inside, then only it can transcend to others. He also shared his strong belief in nonviolence, which is the only weapon to ensure world peace and sustainable development. He said today all world citizens are very much feeling concerned by day by day increasing number of cases of violence, hate crimes, wars, killings and there is no alternative to walk the talk and work whole heartedly to create a peaceful world.
Bikram Singh Rana, State Liaison Officer of State Cell NSS thanking schools and colleges for their overall participation said that they’ll honour five best NSS contingents with special prizes on 2nd October, at the valedictory function of 8th International Youth Peace Fest.
Folk Dances at Kalagram: This third day of the International Youth Peace Fest ended with a colourful mesmerizing evening cultural evening of folk dances, folk instruments & folk music of Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh including martial arts of Punjab, and contemporary Sufi aerial and dance organised by North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) Patiala. Pawan Kumar Bansal, MP and former Cabinet Minister was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Auto Rally on Monday: An auto rally for promotion of Human Rights of Girls will be taken out from PG Govt College-11 to Govt College of Girls-42 on September 30 at 4-5 PM. The IYPF 2013 delegates will join with placards, in 100 three-wheelers decked with stickers, promoting dignity and human rights of girls. David Mees, Culture Attache, US Ambassy, New Delhi will flag off the rally.
