Chandigarh based research and academic community 

Chandigarh, September 23, 2022: To host a delegation of European Research and Innovation officials seeking to engage in cooperation with the Chandigarh based research and academic community and to explore opportunities for international collaboration and exchange. The delegation consists of the Science, Technology and Innovation councellors, attaches and directors of institutes from European countries, headed by Mr. Patrick Fillon-Ashida, First Councellor and Head of Research and Innovation, EU delegation to India.The office of Dean International Students, Panjab University, organized an offline meeting with the delegation, Dean of International Students Prof. Deepti Gupta, Dean of University Instruction Prof, Renu Vig, Prof. Gaurav Verma from SSBUICET, Prof. Ganga Ram Chaudhary from Deptt. of Chemistry, Prof. Indu Pal Kaur from UIPS, Dr. Rohit Sharma, Coordinator of BioNEST, Dr. Vishal Sharma, Chairperson  of U.I.E.A.S.T., Prof. Renu Thakur  from AIHCA. The meeting was held at the VCCR. 

In their visit to Chandigarh, the delegation was particularly interested in Panjab University. The purpose of this visit was to learn more about the initiatives taken by the University in academic, research and innovation and expectations regarding possible cooperation with Europe, both at EU level and with the countries of the delegates participating. The various cooperation and funding opportunities for bilateral and multilateral collaborative research and innovation under Horizon Europe were also discussed.
 
Professors from PU provided an insight into the research and innovation at the different departments of PU. Dr. Vivek Vitthalrao Dham, the advisor for Research and Innovation for the delegation of the European Union to India talked about opportunities for research and innovation cooperation between EU and India. As a result of the meeting, cum get together many new friendships were made.
