CGC University Mohali Empowers Rural Youth through ‘Udaan Skill and Innovation Camp’

Mohali, June 26, 2026: Reaffirming its commitment to social development and youth empowerment, the Great Navbharat Mission Foundation of CGC University, Mohali successfully organised a three-day "Udaan Skill and Innovation Camp." The transformative initiative aimed to equip rural youth with essential life skills, technical knowledge and an innovative mindset.
Organised under the inspiring theme "New Thinking, New Flight," the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 30–40 students and volunteers from the villages of Machhli Kalan, Basian and Jhajheri. The initiative served as a dynamic platform to promote practical learning, self-confidence, self-reliance and the holistic development of young participants.
During the camp, several hands-on workshops and interactive sessions were conducted to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application. Participants received training in basic computer skills and MS Word, strengthening their digital literacy and preparing them for the demands of today's technology-driven world.
To make the programme more practical and career-oriented, mechanical and carpentry workshops were also organised, where participants gained hands-on knowledge about tools, machinery, craftsmanship and problem-solving techniques. An automobile awareness session introduced them to the fundamentals of vehicle operation, maintenance and road safety.
Keeping personal safety and well-being in focus, the camp also featured self-defence training sessions that boosted participants' confidence. Daily yoga sessions promoted physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline and concentration, ensuring the overall development of every participant.
Throughout the three-day programme, students actively participated in various activities that nurtured creativity, teamwork and leadership qualities.
The camp concluded on a highly positive note, with participants expressing gratitude to the university management for providing them with this valuable learning opportunity.
