CGC Landran’s Sandeep Kaur wins Gold in Federation Cup-North India Powerlifting Championship

Sandeep Kaur, from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has won the Gold medal in the 67 Kg category of the Federation Cup – North India Powerlifting Championship organised in Kapurthala by Punjab Powerlifting Association.

Chandigarh, July 7, 2022: Sandeep Kaur, from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has won the Gold medal in the 67 Kg category of the Federation Cup – North India Powerlifting Championship organised in Kapurthala by Punjab Powerlifting Association. The event saw the participation of over 450 competitors from across the region and the country. Competing in the squat (145 Kg), bench Press (62.5 Kg) and dead lift (150 kg) categories, Sandeep lifted a total weight of 357.5 kg emerging the winner in her category.  She was also conferred with the trophy of Strongwomen at the competition, winning this title for the 8th time in her career. 

She is currently focused on preparing for the Commonwealth Classic and Equipped Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship scheduled to be held in Auckland, New Zealand from November 27 to December 04, 2022. Hailing from Moga in Punjab, Sandeep is employed with CGC as gym instructor. Speaking about her achievement, she thanked CGC Landran for the consistent support that the institution provides her as she prepares to compete in various national and international level powerlifting competitions.  She also credits the support from her family and her coach which helped her make her mark in this sport.
