CGC Landran organizes 2-day Banking and Finance Congress 2020

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran hosted the 2nd edition of its Banking and Finance Congress 2020 in the campus with the aim to apprise young minds of Union Budget 2020 and its impact on the Indian economy especially in the banking and corporate sector.
The 2-day event witnessed distinguished guests from the aforementioned spheres including HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, Edifecs Technology, Tech Mahindra, and DNA Growth who held panel discussions on the two themes set for the occasion — Challenges & Implications of Budget 2020 on Banks as well as on the Corporate Sector. More than 150 students of MBA, BBA, BCA and B.Com participated and gave presentations on two key topics.
The first panel comprised of dignitaries from the banking sector – Mr. Jatinder Gupta, SVP-HDFC Bank, Mr. Vikas Sofat, VP- DCB Bank, Mr. Munish Arora, VP, HDFC Bank and Mr. Rajnesh Sood ,DVP-Axis Bank. The second group of panellists were from the leading corporate domain namely Mr. Brijesh Modi, Chief Financial Officer, Thomas Cook (India) Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Kamal Kumar Matta, VP Finance, Edifecs Technologies Private Limited, Mr. Harmeet Singh, Quality Analyst, Tech Mahindra and Mr. Akshay Jain, Corporate Head, DNA Growth. 
“The Union Budget 2020 is indeed a futuristic budget and will surely work in the direction of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a USD 5 trillion economy. It also imbibes numerous initiatives to promote start-ups in the nation especially the setting up of the Investment Clearance Cell that will facilitate budding entrepreneurs in terms of pre-investment advisory, information related to land banks and assist clearances,” said Mr. Brijesh Modi, Chief Financial Officer, Thomas Cook (India) Pvt. Ltd, the keynote speaker for the event.
Chairman CGC Satnam Singh Sandhu and President CGC Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal expressed their gratitude to the esteemed guests and further encouraged students to be actively involved in every sphere of their lives in order to achieve success.
