CGC Jhanjeri organised world water walkathon

Mohali: Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri, organized a World Water Walkathon 2040 at its Campus.  A large number of students joined the in this awareness walk.  The participants were carrying placards with various slogans like “Next World War will be fought for water, Save Water and Avoid The War”, “Save Water, Save Life, Save Earth”, “Water is precious, save it, “Not Water Drops But Jewels, Save Them”. The students distributed pamphlets carrying various water saving messages.
 
The Walkathon   advocate the idea of rain water conservation and ground water storage. Students also explained 5 R theories like Respecting water, Retreating water, Reducing water consumption ,Recycling  water & Reusing  of water. They encouraged residents to stop even small leakage as 45 drops of water flows away from a single tap in just one minute. Students further encouraged residents to reuse waste RO water in kitchen garden and washing clothes and cars. This water can be used in mopping floors.
 
Speaking on the occasion Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said that  CGC  considers its Corporate Social Responsibility to award people. He  explained that CGC organized a number of social welfare activities to aware students about their moral responsibility about the country and nation as well.
