CGC Jhanjeri celebrates Lohri 

Mohali: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri celebrated Lohri, was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Mrs. Savita Bhatti , Renowned Punjabi Cinema Celebrity was the Chief Guest at This occasion . The function started with the lighting of Lohri   amidst singing of “Sunder Munderiye, Ho”.

The students were briefed the history and background of this festival, marking peak of winters. A number of lively cultural items like folk songs, solo dances, duet dances, Shayri, solo singing etc. were presented by the students. Giddha & Bhangra presented by the girls & boys respectively made the entire audience dance with the artists. Reori, Moongfali, popcorn&Gazak were distributed& enjoyed by all who were present during the function.

Later, Chief Savita Bhatti highlighted the significance of the festival and advised students to take active part in extracurricular activities & sports so that their overall personality gets developed.  Savita Bhatti appreciated the theme of Lohri- “Mavaan  Thandiyan Chavaan” and highlighted the importance of mother in our life.

Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC congratulated all the students & staff for the bright beginning of the session.
