The year 2022 saw CGC Landran achieve exceptional milestones in placements, research & innovation, academics, cultural and the sports arena. CGC Landran witnessed a robust placement-season with 8,500+ placement offers across all streams. Anmol Bhatheja, CSE student of CGC by getting a job offer with the highest package of Rs 45.5 LPA from Amazon Development Center India Pvt. Ltd, Bengaluru, and Megha Kwatra, CSE, CGC, getting an offer of Rs. 40.9 LPA from Adobe India Pvt. Ltd., one of the world’s largest and most diversified software companies, have not just reinforced CGC’s legacy of facilitating top notch placements for its students but have also set forth a shining example for their fellow CGCians to emulate.


The institution received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for its B.Tech programmes in Computer Science Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.  The NBA accreditation is testimony to CGC’s legacy of imparting top quality technical education focused on enhancing the skills and industry readiness of its students, resulting in outstanding placements.

In addition to maintaining robust placements, year-on-year, CGC Landran achieved another milestone in 2022 by being ranked 4th pan India, for filing 352 patents in a single year. The institute is ranked 3rd, nationally, among the top 5 for filing patents in the field of information technology. Having filed 106 patents in the field of information technology to clinch the third spot, CGC has taken lead over India’s premier institutes IITs (collectively) which have filed 88 patents. CGC’s focuses on nurturing its students’ & faculty members’ interest in research and innovation by providing them research conducive ambience, effective resources and strong infrastructure. This is further showcased in the patents being granted to CGC students including a design patent granted for ‘Drone for Surveillance’ developed by Ankit Singh and Saeed Bhatia, Mechanical Engineering students and two patents granted to Ravinder Bishnoi,  IT engineering student for an ‘Assembly for Retraction of Side Stand’ in two-wheelers and a ‘Vehicle Horn Control Assembly’ for automobiles.


CGC Landran has also instituted a specialized Research and Development cell, an Incubation centre, the ACIC-RISE association which is backed by the NITI Aayog and IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) cell to encourage entrepreneurship and spirit of innovation. CGC has also got approval as host institution under MSME incubation scheme which will enable it to promote and support entrepreneurship and innovators inventing new ideas. Supported by these initiatives, Gavakshit Verma, an alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering department, made the institution proud as his startup incubated at ACIC RISE association in CGC Landran was invited to attend Europe’s biggest StartUp and Tech event Viva Tech 2022 in Paris, France.


CGC being chosen as a nodal center for the 5th consecutive time, by the Ministry of Education and AICTE for Smart India Hackathon (SIH)-2022, was another high point of the year 2022 for the institute. CGC Landran was also the only nodal center from Punjab and one of the 8 from among the total 75 nodal centers across India, chosen for the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s direct interaction with young innovators participating in SIH 2022


The year also saw CGC honouring its 122 members of faculty, recognising their outstanding contributions in the field of academics as well as 64 meritorious students who bagged university merit positions with a total of 3,000 students from engineering and non engineering streams at the 16th annual convocation ceremony. In the sports field, in 2022, CGC students won accolades at IKGPTU Inter College Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Best Physique tournament winning gold in the first weightlifting and powerlifting. In another notable achievement, Sanjay Shahi, pursuing BTTM from CGC, won the Gold Medal in the 66kg category of the National Junior Powerlifting Championship held in Alappuzha, Kerala.
