The ceremonial flag-off of the Hero SJOBA (St John's Old Boys Association) TSD (Time-Speed-Distance) Rally-2026 was held at St John’s High School here on Friday, marking the beginning of the two-day motorsport event.

Chandigarh, October 2, 2026: The ceremonial flag-off of the Hero SJOBA (St John's Old Boys Association) TSD (Time-Speed-Distance) Rally-2026 was held at St John’s High School here on Friday, marking the beginning of the two-day motorsport event. The rally was flagged off by Nikhil Deep Singh Jaspal, President, SJOBA and other senior members of SJOBA . Organised by the St John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA) under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the  rally will officially start from Doaba Group of Colleges  on October 3 and conclude on October 4.
SJOBA President Nikhil Deep Singh Jaspal said  that a total of 35 cars and 15 motorcycles are participating. The rally is also seeing good participation by women motor sports enthusiasts. Jaspal said that the introduction of the Bikers Class would make the rally more inclusive and attract motorcycle enthusiasts.
It is noteworthy that the flagging off ceremony was preceded by an exciting Super Special Stage(SSS) where motorists showcased their driving skills and the capability of their vehicles. Both four wheelers and two wheelers participated in the SSS. 
Clerk of the Course SPS Ghai said the TSD format tests navigation, precision, time management and coordination between drivers and co-drivers.
Also present  at the flagging off ceremony were Clerk of the Course SPS Ghai; Nagendra Singh , Deputy Clark of Course;  Dr Rahul Dutta , Additional  Clark of Course; Danish Singh Mangat, Secretary SJOBA  & Competitor Relations Officer (CRO); Dr Vivek Kapoor, CMO; Vivek Sood, Results Coordinator; Nipun Mehan, Club Steward; SPS Garcha, Chief Steward; Varun Khattar, Chief Scrutineer and other members of the organising committee. Senior officials from the management of Punjab Tourism  and Bridgestone were also present. 
Notably, the rally will feature its first-ever Night Stage and new routes across Punjab, covering parts of Mohali, SBS Nagar, Rupnagar, Hoshiarpur and Garhshankar.
