Ludhiana, August 24, 2026: Senior leader and former councillor Parminder Mehta has targeted the Narendra Modi-led Central Government over the rising prices of sugar. He alleged that the wrong policies of the Central Government have led to a continuous rise in inflation, with poor and middle-class families bearing the brunt of it.
Parminder Mehta said that the rising prices of everyday essentials have disrupted household budgets. He said that even something as basic as tea is becoming increasingly expensive for people. The rise in sugar prices is directly affecting the kitchens of ordinary families.
He said the government should take concrete steps to control inflation and provide relief to the common people. The poor and middle class are already bearing the burden of rising prices, and the increase in the cost of food items is further adding to their difficulties.
Mehta urged the Central Government to take effective measures to control the prices of essential food items, including sugar, so that relief can be provided to the common people.
