The Central Instrumentation Laboratory at the Central University of Punjab successfully conducted a hands-on training workshop on Sophisticated Instrumentation Techniques: Spectroscopy, Chromatography & Advanced Microscopy from February 29 to March 7, under the Accelerate Vigyan Scheme funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB). The workshop, held under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, concluded with a Valedictory ceremony on March 7.

Bathinda, March 9, 2024: The Central Instrumentation Laboratory at the Central University of Punjab successfully conducted a hands-on training workshop on Sophisticated Instrumentation Techniques: Spectroscopy, Chromatography & Advanced Microscopy from February 29 to March 7, under the Accelerate Vigyan Scheme funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB). The workshop, held under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, concluded with a Valedictory ceremony on March 7.

During the workshop, participants received hands-on training on various high-end equipment, including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), FTIR, Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (CLSM), Fluorescence Microscope, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Flow Cytometer, UV-Spectrophotometer, and other instruments.

At the valedictory session, Prof. R. Wusirika, Dean Incharge Academics, along with Prof. Anjana Munshi, Director of the R&D Cell, and Prof. Monisha Dhiman, Director of the IQAC Cell and CUPB CIL employees, presented certificates to all 25 participants. The participants expressed their gratitude to the Workshop Organizers Prof. Raj Kumar (Incharge CIL), Dr. J. Nagendra Babu (Programme Coordinator), Dr. Sumir Razdan, and Dr. Rabindra Kumar (Programme Conveners) for providing hands-on training on advanced research equipment.

Prof. Wusirika emphasized that the workshop had achieved its objectives and that the participants would utilize the knowledge gained to conduct quality research using sophisticated equipment.

Dr. J. Nagendra Babu, the programme coordinator, delivered the formal Vote of Thanks at the conclusion of the event.
