CELEBRATIONS: Dussehra celebrations in city school

Ludhiana, October 23, 2012: Dussehra –The festival of victory of good over evil was celebrated today at ABC Montessori School BRS Nagar Ludhiana.

The function started with a small prayer and bhajans of lord Rama. The effigy of demon king, Ravana was burnt in the school premises. All the kids wore new clothes and sweets were distributed among them .The school was decorated with flowers and rangoli to celebrate the victory of Lord Rama.     A small skit

Based on Ramayana was presented by the tiny tots. Manya Raj, Yatharth Sharma, Maheen Kaur and Ramgun Bedi played the role of Ram, Lakshman, Sita and Hanuman, respectively.  Other Little Montessorians including Harveen Boparai, Seerat Chahal, Meharbaan Bagga, Kimreet Kaur , Surkhab Singh , Neerav Singh Jassar and Garish Arora dressed up like Ramayana characters and danced to the tunes of “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”.

Speaking on the occasion the Director of the school Amanpreet Singh said “Dussehra not only brings joy but also inspires us to win over our bad instincts by good deeds and pious thoughts.In burning the effigy we shouldburn the evil within ourselves thus follow the path of truth and goodness, bearing in mind the instance of Ravana, who despite all his might and majesty was destroyed for his evil ways.”
