Celebration of “Dhiaan Di Lohri” at Ramgarhia Girls College
Today, the festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana, in the spirit of celebrating daughters.
Ludhiana, January 13, 2026: Today, the festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana, in the spirit of celebrating daughters. On this auspicious occasion, Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director of Student Welfare, PAU Ludhiana, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He was accorded a warm floral welcome by Ranjodh Singh, President of Ramgarhia Educational Council, and Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur. Thereafter, the sacred bonfire was lit, and guests, the principal, faculty members, and students collectively celebrated “Dhiaan Di Lohri,” offering prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and success of all.
Students of the Department of Music presented a vibrant cultural programme and celebrated Lohri in a traditional manner, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. Extending Lohri greetings to the students, Dr. Nirmal Jaura remarked, “The true Lohri for daughters is education, which empowers them to lead fulfilling lives and contribute meaningfully to their families and society.”
Addressing the gathering, Ranjodh Singh conveyed New Year and Lohri greetings and emphasized, “We should celebrate the Lohri of daughters wholeheartedly. Education remains the most meaningful and lasting celebration we can offer our daughters.” Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur also extended Lohri greetings and wished happiness, prosperity, and well-being for families and society at large.
As a mark of respect and appreciation, the college fraternity honoured the Chief Guest, Dr. Nirmal Jaura, by presenting him with a memento. The celebrations concluded on a joyful note with traditional dance and music, followed by the distribution of peanuts, revri, sesame seeds, and jaggery.
