Chandigarh, June 16, 2023: School of Communication Studies and PU Radio Jyotirgamaya 91. 2 MHZ in collaboration with Ministry of Ayush, GOI and CEMCA (Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia) are celebrating the 9th edition of International Yoga Day. Dr. Bhavneet Bhatti, Chairperson, School of Communication Studies said that, “Series of events and activities including Yoga sessions, Radio Interviews, community involvement and more is being conducted by SCS as a run up to International Yoga Day”.

This initiative aims to showcase the transformative power of yoga in fostering global unity and harmonious coexistence, aligning with the theme of 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam' for this year.

As part of the activities leading upto International Yoga Day, a one hour special Yoga session was conducted by the professional Yoga coaches team at SCS today. This team comprised  Raman Kumar who is a national coach of Indian national yoga team and Panjab university boys team. Kumar was accompanied by Meenakshi Thakur who is an International coach. In the words of Kumar this event was a big success and very useful in spreading awareness about mental and physical fitness that is the demand of 21st century. He also urged that our youth should reap the benefits of yoga as they are beneficial in reducing stress and tension. 

Meenakshi also applauded the efforts of SCS in promoting yoga. This session was conducted at the School of Communication Studies campus on 16th June,2023 which started around 7.30am. 

The School of Communication Studies is taking the initiative to spread the message of health and fitness and this is an endeavour to help community reach out their fitness goals.
