CDSL IPF & BSE IPF Host Regional Investor Awareness Seminar in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar
CDSL Investors Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) & BSE Investors Protection Fund (BSE IPF), under the aegis of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), jointly hosted a Mega Regional Investor Awareness Seminar (Mega RISA) today at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, bringing together Police Personnel, CRPF personnel, Government employees, faculty members of MGM University, and other general investors.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar: CDSL Investors Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) & BSE Investors Protection Fund (BSE IPF), under the aegis of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), jointly hosted a Mega Regional Investor Awareness Seminar (Mega RISA) today at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, bringing together Police Personnel, CRPF personnel, Government employees, faculty members of MGM University, and other general investors.
The seminar with its theme of “Shikshit Se Saksham” aimed to enhance understanding of the securities market, available investment avenues, and essential aspects of cyber safety—reinforcing the importance of informed and responsible financial decision making in an increasingly dynamic market environment.
The event was graced by Sunil Kadam, Executive Director, SEBI; Rahul Kelapure- AGM, SEBI; Ranjeeth Patil, Addl. Municipal Commissioner; Dr. Vinaykumar Rathod, Superintendent of Police (Rural), Shri Ratnakar Navale – DCP Crime; along with several other dignitaries.
Meena Pednekar, Vice President – CDSL, delivered the Opening Address, aligning the theme “Shikshit Se Saksham” with the objective of creating ‘Atmanirbhar Investors,’ which is in line with the core mandate of CDSL IPF, and reaffirming the commitment of SEBI, CDSL, BSE and all MIIs to strengthening investor education and protection.
Shri Khushro Bulsara, Head – BSE Investor Protection Fund, gave the Welcome Address, underscoring BSE IPF’s strong commitment to safeguarding investor interests and strengthening the overall investor protection framework. He also touched upon the importance of AI and its knowledge by investors in general.
The seminar witnessed an enthusiastic response, drawing close to over 850 participants from police, CRPF, SRPF, municipal corporation and faculty and students of MGM university. Throughout the sessions, speakers highlighted the critical importance of financial awareness, digital vigilance, and long‑term financial planning. The discussions reinforced our ongoing commitment to building a well‑informed and financially secure investor community across the country.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Vinaykumar Rathod, Superintendent of Police (Rural) commended the initiative, stressing that financial literacy and digital vigilance are essential for everyone, especially the law enforcement personnel. He noted that such knowledge strengthens officers’ personal financial well being and enhances their ability to handle cases involving financial fraud and cybercrime.
Sunil Kadam, Executive Director, SEBI underscored the growing need for investor awareness as markets become more accessible. He appreciated the joint efforts of CDSL IPF & BSE IPF in empowering citizens and institutional stakeholders through structured education programs that promote responsible financial behaviour and strengthen market confidence.

Through initiatives such as the National Financial Literacy Quiz 2026 for undergraduates and postgraduate college students, conducted jointly with NISM, we are strengthening the foundations of informed investing. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj further enables us to reach rural and semi-urban communities, ensuring that financial literacy becomes accessible, inclusive, and impactful at the grassroot level”
A session on cyber fraud was conducted by Ratnakar Navale, DCP (Crime), who highlighted emerging digital threats, common fraud techniques, and essential measures to safeguard personal and financial information. His guidance helped participants enhance their awareness and preparedness against cyber enabled financial crimes. A detailed address on Financial Planning and Investment by a capital market expert, covering key aspects of the securities market, including investor rights, regulatory safeguards, grievance redressal mechanisms, risks associated with unregulated products, etc. Together, the sessions provided participants with a clear understanding of market functioning and practical tools to identify, prevent, and respond to financial fraud.
This seminar forms part of CDSL IPF’s and BSE IPF’s continuous efforts to enhance financial literacy and empower investors across the country.
