CDOE, Panjab University Equips Students with Digital Marketing Skills at Two-Day Workshop

Chandigarh, 28 September 2026: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Panjab University (PI), Chandigarh, Department of Commerce and Management Studies, organised a two-day online workshop on Digital Marketing for B. Com FYUP students under the NEP framework. The workshop has been designed as part of the Skill Enhancement Course to familiarise learners with the fundamentals and practical dimensions of digital marketing, an area that has become indispensable in today's business landscape.
The initiative was spearheaded by Director, CDOE, Prof. Geeta Bansal. Prof. Bansal has consistently championed the integration of contemporary, industry-relevant content into the distance education curriculum, ensuring that students studying through open and online modes receive exposure equal to their regular counterparts. Her continued efforts to introduce skill-based courses, encourage expert-led sessions and strengthen digital learning infrastructure have significantly enhanced the academic experience at CDOE.
The resource person for the workshop was Prof. Tejinderpal Singh of the University Business School, PU, who also serves as the Coordinator, SWAYAM, and the Coordinator, Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Prof. Singh delivered an engaging and content-rich session covering the scope and significance of digital marketing, the macro and micro-environments influencing digital strategies, and essential tools such as Search Engine Optimisation and Search Engine Marketing. His lucid explanations, real-world examples and interactive approach helped participants grasp both conceptual and applied aspects of the subject.
The workshop concluded with participants expressing enthusiasm about applying these digital marketing techniques in real business scenarios.
