CCA Punjab, Chandigarh Organizes Pensioners’ Welfare Camp for Life Certificate Updation and Awareness Activities
The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Punjab Telecom Circle, Chandigarh, a field office of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, organized a Pensioners’ Welfare Camp at Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, November 26, 2025: The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Punjab Telecom Circle, Chandigarh, a field office of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, organized a Pensioners’ Welfare Camp at Chandigarh. As part of the Nation Wide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 4.0 being held from November 1 to 30, the camp was dedicated to ensuring the well being and convenience of pensioners. The initiative aimed to facilitate Life Certificate updation, promote health awareness, and enhance understanding of cybersecurity and banking related issues among pensioners.
The camp was inaugurated and chaired by V. N. Tandon, Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Punjab. In his inaugural address, Shri Tandon assured pensioners that such outreach and service camps are being organized regularly to ensure access to departmental services at their doorstep, thereby enhancing their ease, comfort, and welfare. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mandeep Singh, Joint Controller, reiterated that the office remains inspired by and committed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision that every decision and action must be guided by the desire to improve people’s lives. He emphasized that the office will continue working with dedication to serve pensioners in the best possible manner.
A special counter was set up to assist pensioners in generating and submitting their Digital Life Certificates (Jeevan Pramaan), ensuring ease of compliance without the need to visit multiple offices.
As part of the welfare initiative, a health talk was organized in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Chandigarh. Senior doctors from the Departments of Urology and Neurology delivered informative lectures and conducted an interactive session with pensioners.
In view of the rising incidents of online frauds and scams targeting elderly citizens, the office, in association with Chandigarh Police Cyber Cell, conducted a Cyber Security Awareness Session. Pensioners were sensitized about safe digital banking practices, secure use of mobile banking, and ways to prevent cyber fraud.
A special session was also held to encourage pensioners to practice Yoga. An expert trainer delivered a detailed talk on the benefits and techniques of Yoga.
Demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability, the office undertook green initiatives, spreading environmental awareness and distributing plant saplings among pensioners and stakeholders to inspire collective action for a healthier and greener future.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from pensioners. The CCA Office reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring pensioners’ welfare, convenience, and digital empowerment through such outreach programs.
