New Delhi, April, 30, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has traced two children (both boys) aged 11 years & 8 years from Kolkata who were missing from Satna (Madhya Pradesh) since April, 2010.
The two children were produced before Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Barrasat (West Bengal) and were ordered to keep them under the care of Gorakhpur based NGO with its branch at Kolkata where the children are studying in classes 4th and 2nd respectively.
CBI had registered a case on 08.03.2013 U/s 363 of IPC on the orders of Hon’ble Madhya Pradesh High Court passed in a Writ Petition No. 18469/2011 filed by father of three children (one girl, age-15 years, two boys of age 8 years & 5 years) who were missing since 02.04.2010 from their residence at Hanuman Mandir, North Pateri, PS Civil Line, Satna (Madhya Pradesh).
Earlier, the Local Police was investigating the case registered U/s 363 of IPC at Police Station Civil Line, Satna(Madhya Pradesh).  Since, the father of the three missing children was not satisfied with the investigation, he filed a petition in the Hon’ble High Court suspecting some private persons and police officials of Satna.
CBI took up the investigation and contacted various States & certain shelter homes; children homes; child help lines; NGOs; Central Adoption Authority of India; NCRB; SCRBs and State Mortuaries to collect information. CBI also examined 178 persons which included suspects mentioned by the father of the three missing children; relatives; neighbours and even Police Officials of Satna. Lie Detection/Polygraph Test & Psychological Assessment Test of certain persons, including police officials, were also conducted. Cash reward of Rs. 50,000 each was also declared to anybody giving a clue about the children.
After thorough investigation, CBI team found two of the missing children at Kolkata. It was revealed that the three children had run away from their house because of the alleged ill-treatment meted out to them by their father. On 09.05.2010, they were located at Howrah Railway Station by the Volunteers of the NGO at Kolkata.  The children were allegedly found in the company of a blind & physically challenged person.  The two children were admitted in the Children Home run by said NGO whereas the girl refused to accompany them and her whereabouts is still being traced.
