CBI registers a case relating to death of Jiah Khan

New Delhi, August 13, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has today registered a case related to the death of Ms. Jiah Khan on the orders of the High Court of Judicature at Bombay passed in Criminal Writ Petition No.919/2014 filed by the Mother of deceased, transferring the investigation of CR.No.204/2013 Under Section 306 of  the Indian Penal Code  (IPC) registered at Police Station Juhu, Mumbai (Maharashtra). The Maharashtra police has already filed a charge sheet on January 11.2014 against a private person Under Section 306 of IPC.

According to a spokesman of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CB), the Hon’ble High Court has directed the C.B.I. “to consider whether this is a case of suicidal or homicidal death? If it comes to a conclusion, that it is a homicidal death then, further investigation be made to find out who is the perpetrator of the crime and accordingly action be taken.”

CBI has taken up the investigation of the case which was earlier registered by Maharashtra Police.
