CBI arrests warehouse assistant of central warehousing corporation

New Delhi, September 23, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Warehouse Assistant Grade–I, Central Warehousing Corporation, Rajahmundry for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.6000 from the Complainant.                   
A case was registered against Warehouse Assistant Grade-I, Central Warehousing Corporation, Rajahmundry, for demanding a bribe amount of Rs. 6000 from the Complainant for allowing him to lift the material stored in the godown. The complainant alleged that during the month of May, 2014, he purchased 17 MTs of raw cashew nuts from the farmers and stored the same in the godown of Central Warehousing Corporation, Rajahmundry.
Subsequently, the complainant sold the said material to a private firm of Orissa and when the party wanted to lift the material; the Warehouse Assistant Grade-I, CWC, Rajahmundry informed the Complainant that he would allow the party to lift the material only after payment of an amount of Rs. 6,000/-, in addition to the other applicable rent towards storing the said material. CBI laid trap and accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe amount of Rs. 6,000/- from the complainant.
The arrested accused was produced before the Principal Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam and was remanded to judicial custody till September 25, 2014.
