New Delhi, May 6, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Junior Engineer and a Beldar, both posted at Najafgarh Zone of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.40,000 from the complainant.
A case was registered on a complaint against an official working under Junior Engineer, Najafgarh Zone, MCD on the allegation that he demanded a bribe of Rs.One Lakh Fifty Thousand in order to allow the construction of four storey building owned by the complainant. A trap was laid and both the accused were caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 as a part payment of bribe.
Both the arrested accused were produced before the Special Judge, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi and were remanded to Judicial Custody for 14 days.
