CBI arrests Inspector of Railway Protection Force for accepting a bribe of Rs. 1.5 lakh

New Delhi, Jalandhar, November 29, 2013: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Inspector of Railway Protection Force, South Eastern Railway, Balasore for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 1.5 lakh from the Complainant.

A case was registered U/s 7 of P.C.Act,1988 on the allegations that the accused had demanded a bribe from a representative of Mumbai based private transport company for releasing their two trucks/ trailers, which were detained by the said R.P.F. Inspector. CBI laid a trap and the Inspector was caught red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 1.5 Lakh from the complainant.

Searches were conducted at the premises of accused which lead to recovery of total assets worth about Rs.45 lakh.

Further investigation is continuing.
