New Delhi, April 25, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested Deputy Director of Employees State Insurance Corporation, Sub Regional Office, Bangalore (Karnataka) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 25,000 from the Complainant.
A case was registered by CBI on 24.04.2014 against Dy. Director, Employees State Insurance Corporation, Sub Regional Office, Bangalore u/s. 7 of the PC Act, 1988. It was alleged that the accused person had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs. 25,000, for closing the court case under Amnesty and also clear his appeal. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000. Searches were conducted at the residential and official premises of the accused person.
The accused is being produced today before the Special Judge for CBI cases, Bangalore.
