Case of murder of woman with axe in Jawali, husband and his brother in custody

Dharamshala, November 14, 2019: Here a shocking incident has come to light in Panchayat Harnota under Jawali Police Station of Kangra (Himachal) where a woman Snehlata (45) was killed with a sharp weapon.
According to the police, Ranjit Singh (48) son of Jassi Ram and his brother Malkiyat Singh are being interrogated. Husband of the deceased, Ranjit Singh is accused of killing his wife. At the same time, Ranjit Singh is accusing his brother Malkiyat Singh of this murder.
Late Wednesday night, Snehlata was killed by a sharp weapon. Snehlata has two daughters and a son. Son was away for army recruitment. Five days earlier, on 9 November, the elder daughter got married. The younger daughter Preeti had gone to Faria to return the wedding dress and stayed at the house of her relative in Chalwada at night. The deceased Snehlata was posted as a helper in Anganwadi, while husband Ranjit Singh worked as a labourer.
After his wife's death, Ranjit Singh consumed alcohol and went to the panchayat head Jagdish Chand and started saying that his wife has been killed by his brother. The information was given to the Jawali police. DSP Jawali, Mr Onkar Singh Rana accompanied the team to the scene and took the body. He said that the police have registered a case and started action and sent the body for post-mortem. He said that the forensic team has also been called on the spot.
