Career Opportunities in Networking Discussed at GGNIMT

GGNIMT, Ludhiana on Monday organising a seminar on “Career opportunities in the world of Networking” for MCA and BCA students.

Ludhiana, April 7, 2014: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ludhiana organised a seminar on “Career opportunities in the world of Networking” for MCA and BCA students here on Monday.
Amandeep Singh, Former System Engineer with CISCO was the resource person for the day.
Singh introduced the session by highlighting the growing job prospects in the field of computer networks as a result of rapid expansion of internet. He gave facts and figures of increasing connected devices per person on Earth and remarked that internet is now termed as ‘Internet of Everything’. He exhorted that year 2025 is expected to witness seven connected device per person on the earth thus demanding more expertise in managing large and highly complex networks.
Singh also informed the students about the various levels and tracks of CISCO certifications that helped budding network engineers get higher packages with big brands.
Singh clarified the basic concepts of Networks with special emphasis on topics such as ‘Cloud Computing’, ‘Virtualization’, ’Internet of things’, ‘Routing’ , ’ Switching’, etc.
Students participated in the interactive session and cleared all their doubts.
Prof. Gunwant Singh Dua, Co-ordinator, GGNIMT thanked the guest for sharing valuable information with the students. Principal, Dr. Khattra was also present on the occasion.
