Capt Sandhu takes dig at Majithia, Harsimrat

Dakha, October 16: Congress candidate from Dakha assembly segment Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu today took a dig at Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia and his sister and union minister Ms Harsimrat Kaur Badal over their charges against the state government that it had not fulfilled any promise.
“It is nice to learn that Sardar Majithia and Ms Badal have great expectations from us that they expect us to do in two years what their government could not do in ten years”, Capt Sandhu remarked, while responding to Akali leaders’ charges that no development had taken place during last two and a half years of the Congress government and none of the promises had been fulfilled.
The Congress leader asked Majithia and Ms Badal to wait for October 24 when the people of Dakha will pronounce their verdict against ten year misrule of the Akali-BJP government and in favour of the two and a half years of the Congress government. “How come that what you did not do in ten years, you are expecting us to do in two years?” he asked the Akali leaders, while telling them, let people decide it on October 21.
At the same time Capt Sandhu added, “for the knowledge of the Akali leaders, let me remind and refresh their memory that over six lakh farmers have been provided debt relief, tens of thousands of youth have been provided jobs, the drug peddlers and gangsters have been made to run away and those responsible for sacrilege and subsequent police firing are being held accountable by the law”.
The Congress candidate challenged the Akalis to present their candidate Manpreet Ayali for a debate with him on any of the issues related to the development of the state or the Dakha assembly segment. “Have you ever heard Ayali speaking or saying anything as it is only Mr Majithia and Ms Badal who have been speaking for him”, he told a gathering of people in village Raqba.
Capt Sandhu urged people to beware of the lies being spoken and circulated by the Akalis. “Ask them to come clean on sacrilege and drugs before having the audacity to seek your votes”, he urged people.
