Chandigarh, February 17, 2014: Former Chief Minister and Permanent Invitee to the Congress Working Committee Capt Amarinder Singh today welcomed the decision of the government of India to provide one rank one pension to the ex-servicemen of the country.
Welcoming the decision announced by the Finance Minister P Chidambaram in his interim budget speech today, Capt Amarinder said, it was a long pending and overdue decision awaited by lakhs of ex-servicemen across the country. He said, Punjab will stand benefitted a lot as there are a large number of ex-servicemen living in the state.
Meanwhile, Laly Jawandha, Convenor of the Ex-servicemen Cell of the Punjab Pradesh Congress also hailed the decision.
