Tiwari, organized a Capacity Building Workshop on Competition Law. The resource persons of this programme were Shri Kuldeep Dalal, Joint Director, Legal, the Competition Commission of India and Shri Anuj Verma, Deputy Director, Finance, the Competition Commission of India. The workshop was attended by faculty members and students of different higher educational institutions, namely, Amritsar Law College, Guru Kashi University, Tantia University and the Central University of Punjab.

While addressing the participants, Shri Kuldeep Dalal informed that the Competition Commission of India (CCI), established on October 14th, 2003, envisions promoting and sustaining an enabling competition culture through engagement and enforcement that would inspire businesses to be fair, competitive and innovative; enhance consumer welfare; and support economic growth. Shri Anuj Verma talked about the work of the CCI in maintaining competition in the market. During this workshop, the speakers discussed the Competition Act 2002 and its interface with other laws; antitrust agreements; abuse of dominant positions by enterprises; competition advocacy; and combinations that adversely affect fair competition in the market. In the interactive session, students shared and cleared their doubts with the speakers.
