Mohali, October 27, 2025: As part of its continued efforts to promote cancer awareness and women’s health, Shalby Hospital Mohali has launched a new public awareness campaign “CanSurvive – Pink Purple Promise” dedicated to Breast Cancer and other major cancers. The initiative focuses on strengthening early detection, timely treatment, and empowering communities with vital health knowledge.

The campaign was inaugurated in the presence of Bittu Safeena Sandhu, Managing Trustee of Rani Breast Cancer Trust (RBCT), who unveiled a specially designed Cancer Screening Coupon. This initiative enables subsidized screening for women and families across the Tricity and surrounding areas. RBCT has been a leading force in promoting free mammography services, awareness programs, and women empowerment activities across Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ashwani Kumar Sachdeva, Senior Consultant, said, “Most cancers, including breast cancer, show early warning signs. Awareness and regular screening remain the strongest tools in saving lives.”

Highlighting the importance of self-care among women, Dr. Priya Dwivedi, Consultant, Oncology, noted, “Knowledge and awareness are the foundation of prevention. Encouraging women to prioritise their own health is a shared social responsibility.”

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Director, Uro-Oncology, and Dr. Col. Arvinder Kaur Heer, Consultant, Gynaecology, Obs & Gynae-Onco, also shared expert insights and interacted with the audience.

Reaffirming the hospital’s community commitment, Mr. Gladwin Sandeep Nayyar, Chief Administrative Officer, said, “Through the CanSurvive campaign, Shalby Mohali aims to reach more people early with advanced cancer care and awareness initiatives. Our goal is to ensure timely diagnosis and compassionate support for every patient.”

The event featured lamp lighting, expert talks, and the felicitation of the Chief Guest. It also marked the start of a month-long community awareness drive that includes health talks, screening camps, and outreach programs across Tricity and nearby regions.
