Candidate for president Chandigarh Grain Market Association shares plans for improving market

Chandigarh, August 29, 2014: The Chandigarh Grain Market Association elections are to be held on August 30. These elections are being held after a gap of 10 years. Ramkaran Gupta, the candidate for the post of president held a press conference alongwith important members of his team Raj Kumar Goyal (Ex Mayor, Chandigarh) and Desraj Gupta, Councillor. It is noteworthy that Ramkaran Gupta is a distinguished personality who is In-charge, BJP Trader Cell, Advisor- Chandigarh Vyapar Mandal and Chairman, Sales Tax & VAT Committee. What's more, he is a qualified engineer and being well educated he can provide excellent leadership and do a lot of constructive things for Chandigarh Grain Market ,which has been sadly misgoverned by successive associations  under different presidents since the last 20 years. There has been no development & issues related to the Grain Market have not been addressed.
It was announced that if an association under presidentship of Ramkaran Gupta is voted-in, on August 30 -the date on which voting will take place from 9 am till 2 p.m. then, a sea change will be brought about in the grain market. Said Ramkaran Gupta, “We will introduce the Delhi pattern where pulses will be made VAT free, market fee on rice will go and provision of adequate public toilets as also drinking water would be made. An amendment would be brought about in the bylaws so that internal changes in the market are allowed, permission would be given for using 1st and 2nd floors for business activities, and shops will be allowed sheds on one side.” According to Rajkumar Goyal, Ex Mayor, “We are confident of a change and seeing the response to our campaign and support of voters’ victory of Ram Karan Gupta as President is almost certain.”
Ramkaran Gupta has the support of Sanjay Tandon, President, BJP, Chandigarh. Said Desraj Gupta, Councillor, “As Chandigarh constituency has a BJP MP in Kirron Kher and there is a BJP government at the centre, voting-in Ramkaran Gupta for President Grain Market would benefit the market's growth and development.”  
Ram Karan Gupta informed that all encroachments in grain market will come to an end, parking will be streamlined, a committee dedicated to youth will be established which will take care of beautification of the grain market, traffic inflow and outflow will be regulated and drinking water arrangements will also be put into place.
It was also informed that Ramkaran Gupta and his team had already taken up the pertinent issues with the Administration and if elected the panel will work hard towards meeting its objectives.
