Khanna, (Ludhiana) March 28, 2026: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Saturday reviewed wheat procurement arrangements with officials from various procurement agencies and members of commission agents' associations, labour associations, and transporters.
Sond instructed the Mandi Board, Food and Civil Supplies Department, and other concerned departments to fulfill their responsibilities during the wheat procurement process. He directed the officials involved in wheat procurement to ensure that purchasing and lifting of wheat is carried out smoothly. He asked them to ensure there must not be any complaint regarding transport, gunny bags and etc.
Sond ordered the officials to make proper arrangements for drinking water, electricity, cleanliness, shade, and toilets. He informed that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, it has made foolproof arrangements for the procurement of wheat. He further stated that every single grain of the farmers’ wheat produce will be procured smoothly and without any hindrance, and its lifting will be ensured. He mentioned that the Punjab Government has made extensive arrangements to ensure that farmers’ wheat is immediately lifted from the grain markets so that farmers do not face any difficulty while selling their produce.
