Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond Reviews Dussehra Festival Preparations in Khanna

Khanna, October 14, 2026: Preparations for celebrating Dussehra in Khanna in a grand, peaceful and well-organised manner have gathered momentum. As part of these preparations, Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond visited Dussehra Ground to review the arrangements for the festival. During the visit, he held discussions with members of the Dussehra Utsav Committee Khanna, SSP Khanna Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia, and senior officials of the police and civil administration to assess various arrangements.
While reviewing the preparations with officials and committee members, Minister Sond directed that public convenience, safety and proper management must remain the top priorities during the celebrations. Keeping in view the possibility of a large gathering of devotees and residents, he emphasised the need to pay special attention to security arrangements, traffic management, smooth crowd movement and other essential facilities.
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond appealed to the residents of Khanna to participate in the Dussehra celebrations in large numbers along with their families and celebrate the auspicious festival, symbolising the victory of good over evil, with enthusiasm, devotion and mutual brotherhood.
He said that Dussehra is an important festival of Indian culture and traditions, conveying the message of following the path of truth and upholding the victory of good over evil. He added that maintaining mutual harmony, peace and social unity during festivals is a collective responsibility of everyone.
The minister said that the administration is making every effort to ensure that every person visiting the Dussehra celebrations enjoys a safe and comfortable environment and can participate in the festivities without any inconvenience.
POLICE AND CIVIL ADMINISTRATION TAKE CHARGE OF PREPARATIONS
During the review meeting at Dussehra Ground, officials from Khanna Police District and the civil administration assessed the arrangements related to the event. Police personnel, civil administration officials, members of the Dussehra Utsav Committee and prominent city residents were present on the occasion.
The preparations being undertaken by the administration aim to ensure the smooth conduct of the Dussehra celebrations and provide a safe environment for the people of Khanna.
Minister Sond stressed the importance of close coordination among all concerned departments and stakeholders to ensure that the Dussehra festival becomes a memorable celebration of religious faith, joy and communal harmony.
