Samrala (Ludhiana), March 5, 2026: In a significant boost to Punjab's dairy and agriculture sectors, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond today inaugurated the PLFA International Dairy & Agri Expo 2026. The three-day event (March 5–7) is being held at the New Grain Market, Chawa Road, Samrala.
The focus is on showcasing the latest innovations, displaying state-of-the-art machinery, and sharing practical, profit-enhancing solutions for dairy and agriculture.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sond highlighted the expo as an excellent platform for farmers to acquire valuable insights and adopt modern techniques. "Punjab is making rapid strides in the dairy sector," he stated and added that the state government is fully committed to supporting dairy farmers through subsidies, financial assistance and other facilities to strengthen them economically. He added that the government is also actively promoting dairy as a viable subsidiary occupation to diversify and boost rural incomes."
The Minister commended the PLFA for its dedicated efforts to link farmers with the dairy industry and expressed satisfaction with the high-quality, international-standard arrangements. He congratulated the entire PLFA team for successfully organizing this landmark event.
Minister Sond emphasized that Punjab's farmers are increasingly embracing commercial dairy farming alongside traditional agriculture. "The primary goal of hosting such mega expos on Punjab's soil is to economically empower our farmers and position the state as a leading dairy hub in India," he added.
