Khanna, (Ludhiana) April 27, 2025: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond accompanied by senior officials from various departments, inspected the Samrala Road bridge in Khanna on Sunday and directed the concerned officials to repair the bridge as soon as possible.
Khanna Additional Deputy Commissioner Shikha Bhagat, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Baljinder Singh Dhillon, Market Committee Chairman Jagtar Singh Rattanheri, along with other senior officials from various departments were also present.
During the visit, Sond observed that the bridge serves as a main link for traffic diverting from Khanna towards Nawanshahr, Hoshiarpur, and Banga, ultimately connecting to Jammu and Kashmir. He noted the bridge’s poor condition, with potholes and long-overdue repair needs, attributing its faulty design to previous administrations.
Sond ordered prompt repair work, with the estimated cost already submitted to the concerned department. The bridge will undergo major repairs and re-carpeting, benefiting local residents and commuters. He reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to delivering essential infrastructure and public services.
