Sahnewal (Ludhiana), September 30, 2025: Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Tuesday initiated the paddy procurement process at Sahnewal grain market.
Mundian directed officials to ensure immediate procurement and lifting of the paddy crop, which is the result of farmers' hard work. He assured that farmers would face no difficulties in the grain markets and reiterated the government's commitment to procuring every single grain of the crop.
The Minister emphasized that farmers and labourers, or commission agents would not face any issues. He appealed to farmers to bring only dry paddy to the markets to avoid any inconvenience. He further stated that all necessary arrangements have been made in the grain markets, ensuring farmers face no problems.
Minister Mundian informed that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy has been fixed at Rs 2,389 per quintal. He also assured that payments for the procured crop would be directly transferred to farmers' accounts promptly. He instructed officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Mandi Board, and district administration to personally monitor operations in the markets to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Sahnewal Market Committee Chairman Hemraj Raji, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ludhiana East Jasleen Kaur Bhullar and others were also present on the occasion.
