Ludhiana, September 6, 2025: Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing strengthening work at Dhussi Bandh and Ring Bandh on Saturday evening in Sasrali Colony.
Both affirmed that the current situation is well under control.
During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain briefed Minister Mundian on the comprehensive efforts underway. The Minister engaged with local villagers, assuring them that the administration remains fully committed to providing all necessary support. He highlighted the critical technical assistance from the Indian Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in reinforcing the embankments, with continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas.
Minister Mundian noted that excessive water pressure last night caused soil erosion at certain points, allowing water to seep into nearby fields. However, swift action, supported by the villagers, ensured the situation was stabilized, and conditions have since improved. He added that senior district officials are stationed on-site to oversee critical zones round the clock.
Minister Mundian and Deputy Commissioner Jain also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the invaluable contributions of the villagers, Indian Army, NDRF, and various social organizations. They added that the administration will remain indebted to everyone.
ADC Amarjit Bains, SDM Jasleen Kaur Bhullar, RTA Secretary Kuldeep Bawa and others were also present.
