Ludhiana, July 18, 2025: Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Friday launched the second phase of Project Sarthi, an initiative to train career guidance counsellors from government secondary schools and colleges, at SCD Government College (Boys College).
Joined by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, the program, organized by the District Administration and Act Humane, an NGO led by Harleen Kaur, saw 393 counsellors from Ludhiana participate.
Arora praised the initiative’s potential to transform lives by equipping counsellors with skills to guide students toward diverse careers, such as agriculture, technology, entrepreneurship, science, civil services, medicine, and engineering. “Many students lack clarity on career paths. Project Sarthi empowers counsellors to bridge this gap and help students achieve their dreams,” he said.
The training focused on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for effective student counselling, emphasizing practical approaches to support informed career choices. A key moment was an inspiring speech by Krishan, Director of BD Group, who shared how teachers shaped his life. He honored his mother, Neelam Arora, a retired principal, for inspiring his commitment to education.
Project Sarthi 2.0 aims to strengthen educational ecosystem by enabling counsellors to guide students toward fulfilling futures.
