Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian distributes flood relief worth Rs 38.15 lakh to 121 farmers

Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Tuesday distributed relief totalling Rs 38.15 lakh to 121 beneficiaries from flood-ravaged villages Sasrali, Walipur Khurd and Khurshaidpur.

Ludhiana, Oct 21, 2025: Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Tuesday distributed relief totalling Rs 38.15 lakh to 121 beneficiaries from flood-ravaged villages Sasrali, Walipur Khurd and Khurshaidpur. 

The entire amount has been transferred directly to the farmers' accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for complete transparency.

The symbolic amount certificate distribution event was held in Mundian village, where Cabinet Minister personally handed over certificates to farmers whose crops were destroyed by the deluge in the Sutlej and its tributaries.

Cabinet Minister Mundian stated that the government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's visionary leadership, the is working round the clock for people which no previous government has ever done. He mentioned the government has ensured every affected family receives Rs 20,000 per acre for crop losses, up to Rs 1, 20,000 for house damages, and livestock support—all within just 45 days. He also informed that the special girdawari teams reached every last household and completed this gigantic task through their tireless hard work. He further announced that every damaged road will be re-carpeted soon. 

Mundian also stated that the Punjab government will soon launch an insurance scheme for every Punjabi ensuring cashless treatment worth Rs 10 lakh per family.
