Cabinet Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma to Be Chief Guest on Republic Day at Rohtak

Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that on January 26, during the district-level Republic Day function, Haryana’s Minister for Cooperation, Election, Jails, Tourism and Heritage, Dr. Arvind Sharma, will unfurl the National Flag as the Chief Guest. Republic Day functions will also be organized at subdivision levels besides the district headquarters.

Rohtak, January 21, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that on January 26, during the district-level Republic Day function, Haryana’s Minister for Cooperation, Election, Jails, Tourism and Heritage, Dr. Arvind Sharma, will unfurl the National Flag as the Chief Guest. Republic Day functions will also be organized at subdivision levels besides the district headquarters.

He said that a grand district-level Republic Day function will be organized on January 26 at the local Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex. Dr. Arvind Sharma will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. In addition, Republic Day functions will be held in Sampla and Meham subdivisions. As per the list issued by the government, Zila Parishad Chairperson Manju Hooda will unfurl the National Flag at Sampla, while Rohtak Mayor Ram Avtar Valmiki will hoist the Tricolour at the subdivision-level function in Meham.

The Deputy Commissioner said that responsibilities have been assigned to all concerned departments for the Republic Day function and preparations have commenced. Parade contingents are rehearsing at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex to ensure a disciplined and impressive march-past. Along with district police contingents, Home Guards, NCC, Scouts and Guides are also participating in parade rehearsals.

He further said that besides cultural programmes, hundreds of students will participate in the Mass Physical Training (PT) show. Preparations of cultural teams are underway under the supervision of the District Education Officer, and as per the schedule, selection of cultural teams for the Republic Day function will be done on January 22. Similarly, around 1,700 students participating in the Mass PT show are continuously rehearsing at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex under the guidance of DPEs and PTIs to ensure a grand performance during the Republic Day celebrations.
