Budget 2019: There is no mention on control of prices of drugs, says Dr Arun Mitra

Ludhiana, February 1, 2019: Reacting to the proposals in the union budget presented today Dr Arun Mitra, Vice President Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) and member core committee Alliance of Doctor for Ethical Healthcare (ADEH) said that the total allocation on health in the budget is 62538 crore rupees which comes to 2.64% of budget of 2400000 crores where as a minimum of 5% of the budget is required under the public spending on health. There is no mention on control of prices of drugs. There is only 0.78% increase in the national heatlh mission budget and there is decrease in the budget on Swachh Bharat Mission 0.34% .
