BPCL Takes PNG and CNG to New Heights

Taking this vision forward, Fortune Global 500 company and Maharatna PSU Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has announced the nationwide launch of PNG and CNG Drive 2.0, aligned with the Government of India’s clean energy transition goals. The initiative aims to strengthen the share of natural gas in India’s overall energy mix.
As part of the launch, new national television commercials were unveiled under the aegis of the PNGRB Industry Committee. The campaigns feature Member of Parliament and actor Ravi Kishan advocating the environmental and economic benefits of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), while acclaimed actress Sakshi Tanwar highlights Piped Natural Gas (PNG) as a safe, convenient, and modern solution for households. The advertisements reinforce the message that natural gas is not just a fuel, but a foundation for a cleaner, reliable, and sustainable way of life.
Guided by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), the nationwide campaign will run from 1 January to 31 March 2026, with active participation from all City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies across the country.
Addressing the press conference, Shubhankar Sen, Director (Marketing), BPCL, stated that PNG–CNG Drive 2.0 is a strong step towards nation-building. He emphasized that natural gas offers safety, reliability, uninterrupted supply, and significantly lower carbon emissions—making it ideal for India’s rapidly urbanizing lifestyle.
Neera Asthana Phate, General Manager – Corporate Communication & CRM, Mahanagar Gas Limited, underlined that PNG and CNG support people at every stage of life—from homes, offices, and restaurants to vehicles on the road—enabling cleaner living and mobility. Meanwhile, Raman Malik, Head – PR & Brand, BPCL, noted that the campaign focuses on clear, credible, and impactful communication to take the clean energy message to every corner of the country.
Together, PNG and CNG Drive 2.0 marks a decisive push toward a gas-based economy and a cleaner, more sustainable future for India.
