Booths by political parties now allowed beyond 100-meters of polling station

Ludhiana, June 13, 2025: In a significant step to streamline poll day management, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised its guidelines, allowing political parties and candidates to set up booths just beyond 100 metres of any polling station.
Earlier, the distance of setting up booth was 200 meters from the polling location. Each booth is permitted to have one table, two chairs, and an umbrella or a small tent (not exceeding 10x10 feet) for weather protection. The political parties and candidates have been urged to comply with these revised guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair polling process.
