Book titled `Pandemics In History And Other Narratives’

Chandigarh, April 15, 2022: Prof Raj Kumar, Vice- Chancellor, Panjab University Chandigarh released a book titled 'Pandemics In History And Other Narratives’, written by Dr. Amneet Gill who teaches History in the Department of Evening Studies, Multi Disciplinary Research Centre, Punjab University, Chandigarh.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated her and encouraged her to continue with such work in future also. Dr. Amneet has been an academic topper throughout. This is her fourth book and she has to her credit 15 research papers published in various journals of repute. She is versed in Brahmi and Arabic as well.

The book chronicles the origin and growth of various pandemics that have affected mankind in history and throws light on measures undertaken to resist their spread thereby offering valuable insights in the field of medical advancement. Among other themes, the book looks into the National Education Policy 2020 which is being viewed as the dawn of a new era and is set to transform education, right from the foundational to the university level.
