Book release and symposium organised at Ramgarhia Girls College

The P.G. Department of Punjabi of Ramgarhia Girls College hosted a book release event and symposium on the topic 'Karamyog ka Saidhantik Phalsapha' at Baba Gurmukh Singh Hall of the college.

Ludhiana, April 25, 2024: The P.G. Department of Punjabi of Ramgarhia Girls College hosted a book release event and symposium on the topic 'Karamyog ka Saidhantik Phalsapha' at Baba Gurmukh Singh Hall of the college. 

The book titled 'Shrimad Bhagavat Gita' is the first ever translation of the holy text in Punjabi by S. Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council. Officiating Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur and Ranjodh Singh extended a warm welcome to Sant Giani Iqbal Singh, Jathedar Sri Patna Sahib, and Padam Bhushan Dr. Sardara Singh Johal, Former Chancellor, Punjab Central University, Bathinda, as the chief guests. They also welcomed Padam Shri Dr. Surjit Patar, President, Punjab Art Council, Dr. Pyara Lal Garg, Former Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health and Science, Dr. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Former President, Punjab Sahit Academy. 

Sharing his experiences, Ranjodh Singh said that the Bhagavad Gita is a treasure house of knowledge, and gives ageless wisdom beyond religious and cultural barriers. Giani Iqbal Singh asserted that this precious book would prove to be a source of knowledge for generations to come. 

Sardara Singh Johal appreciated the efforts of Ranjodh Singh and said that the translation of the Bhagavad Gita will enrich Punjabi literature. Dr. Surjit Patar said that Bhagwat Gita has been a part of the legacy of Punjab, and he commented that the name of the river Ganga has been mentioned twice in the Bhagavad Gita, whereas the names of the five rivers of the Punjab occur numerous times in the text. It has a close geographical connection with the states of Punjab and Haryana. This book is a treasure house of institutions to follow in the crises of life. 

Dr. Pyara Lal Garg averred that one should not engage in action to receive rewards because selfless giving allows us to experience the pure joy of giving without any expectation of receiving in return. Gurbhajan Singh Gill said that Bhagavat Gita teaches how to live well in a world full of challenges and changes. 

Dr. Sardara Singh Johal said that the conflict in our minds is portrayed throughout the entire text. It's about realizing how to go above obstacles and self-doubt in order to create a life that is true to ourselves and has meaning.
