Book Release and Seminar on The Raj, Lahore and Bhai Ram Singh Held at Ramgarhia Girls College

The Department of Fine Arts and the Department of History of Ramgarhia Girls College organised a book-release ceremony for The Raj, Lahore and Bhai Ram Singh. The book focuses on the architectural excellence and achievements of renowned architect Bhai Ram Singh.

Ludhiana, August 22, 2026: The Department of Fine Arts and the Department of History of Ramgarhia Girls College organised a book-release ceremony for The Raj, Lahore and Bhai Ram Singh. The book focuses on the architectural excellence and achievements of renowned architect Bhai Ram Singh. 
A special seminar was also organised to highlight Bhai Ram Singh’s architectural talent, contributions and life achievements. The book has been authored by renowned writers Pervaiz Vandal and Sajida Vandal. It presents in detail Bhai Ram Singh’s exceptional talent in architecture, his contributions in Lahore and other places, and his remarkable work as an Indian architect during the British colonial period. 
Dr. S. S. Johl graced the programme as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill and Anurag Singh were present as Guests of Honour. 
Principal Dr Ajit Kaur and Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, extended a warm welcome to all the guests and dignitaries. Artists Sandeep Singh, Hardeep Singh and Mandeep Singh were the keynote speakers. They delivered keynote presentations and shared their views on Bhai Ram Singh’s artistic and architectural legacy. Using slides projected on a screen, the speakers highlighted various aspects of Bhai Ram Singh’s work. They explained that his architecture was not limited to the construction of buildings; rather, it reflected a beautiful synthesis of Indian art, culture and modern architecture. 
Dr. S. S. Johl, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill and Anurag Singh also shared their views with the audience. They stated that Bhai Ram Singh’s work continues to serve as a source of inspiration for future generations. The book presents Bhai Ram Singh’s life, struggles, talent and contributions to architecture as an important historical and cultural record. Several distinguished personalities from the city were also present on the occasion. 
Ranjodh expressed his gratitude to all the guests and speakers. He said that such literary and academic programmes play an important role in connecting students with history, art, architecture and cultural heritage. He congratulated the authors of the book and the organisers for bringing Bhai Ram Singh’s remarkable contributions to the attention of the younger generation. Faculty members and students from various colleges of civil engineering and architecture also attended the programme. 
The event concluded with the presentation of mementoes to all the guests and dignitaries in appreciation of their presence and contribution to the event.
