A book release and Panel Discussion on the book entitled ‘Kavita Sang Samvaad’ edited by Prof Harbhajan Singh in the Department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, PU Chandigarh.  Program was started with a welcome address by Prof. Gurpal Singh, Academic Incharge of the Department. He introduced the main theme to the audience, said that poetry makes a live and vibrant aura and impacts on the psyche of the masses. Our most of life is much affected by emotions and poetry is a manifestation of these emotions.

Chandigarh, March 13, 2024: A book release and Panel Discussion on the book entitled ‘Kavita Sang Samvaad’ edited by Prof Harbhajan Singh in the Department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, PU Chandigarh.  Program was started with a welcome address by Prof. Gurpal Singh, Academic Incharge of the Department. He introduced the main theme to the audience, said that poetry makes a live and vibrant aura and impacts on the psyche of the masses. Our most of life is much affected by emotions and poetry is a manifestation of these emotions.
 
The main theme was the place and importance of the Punjabi poetry in the modern discourses. The Punjabi diaspora has a great strength and circulation of Punjabi language and culture. Prose and poetry are the two famous mediums of communication, but poetry makes a deeper impact and effect on the psyche of the people. Poetry creates a meaningful dialogue among the masses through emotion and feelings. That’s why poetry became most popular during the independence movement. A vast message were given through the poetry
 
In his paper, Dr. Paramajeet Singh said that the present collection of poems has a unique face. This collection touched some hidden aspects of human understanding and experiences.  Main themes and topics of talk were Punjabi Culture, language, diaspora discourse; gender, environmental and social issues.
 
Main Speakers were Prof. Deepak Manmohan Singh, Prof Jaswinder Singh, Prof Dhanwant Kaur, Kulwant Singh Sekhon, Dr. Paramjit Singh. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Prof Harsukhjeet Kaur, Dr. Labh Singh Kheeva, Dr. Manmohan Singh Daon, Dr. Rajesh Jaiswal also expressed his views. Many scholars, guests and students participated in the discussion. At the end of Talk, Dr. Gurpal Singh gave a vote of thanks.
