"Bone and Joint Day" Celebrated at DMC&H

Ludhiana: The Department of Orthopedics celebrated Bone and Joint Day at DMC&H on 4th August. A seminar was organized on the occasion for MBBS and Nursing students.

Present at the event were Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr Sandeep Puri, principal, DMC&H, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Medical Suptd, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean, Academics, Dr Rajnish Garg, Head, Orthopedics, Dr Sunit Kathuria, Head ,Anesthesia, Dr Harpal Singh, Professor, Orthopedics, Dr Shikha Gupta, Professor, Anesthesia, Dr Deepak Jain, Professor, Orthopedics, Dr Shekhar Singhal, Associate Professor, Orthopedics, Dr Anubhav Sharma, Assistant Professor, Orthopedics and Dr Tanveer singh, Asso Professor, Anesthesia.

The DMC&H Outreach Programme, in partnership with the Ludhiana Orthopaedic Association, organised life support and first aid demonstrations in DMC&H College campus and at various schools in the city, including Satpaul Mittal School, PAU Govt School, KVM, etc.,

Dr Harpal Singh, Coordinator of the event said that this initiative was taken in order to raise awareness among more than 5000 students and teachers about this year's theme of "Each One, Train One, Save One".

The celebrations were inaugurated by Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society and Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMC&H welcomed the audience. More than 250 aspiring medical and nursing graduates, members of the Railway Pensioner's Association, and senior citizens of Haibowal attended the event.

Demonstration of firstaid by Dr Deepak Jain & BLS (Basic Life Support) was presented by Dr Suneet Kathuria & his team and the lecture on “Prevention of Osteoperosis” was delivered by Dr Harpal singh, keeping up with the themeof “Strong Bones, Stronger nation”.

Dr Rajnish Garg delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the Department of Orthopedics.
